Dear Kidney Patient,

PatientView (PV) has now closed down.

Patients in England and Wales

If you are receiving treatment in a kidney centre in England or Wales and you are a current user of PV, the viewing of test results has moved to a new system called Patients Know Best (PKB). All current users of PV in England and Wales have already received an invitation to register for PKB. If you have not already registered and wish to continue viewing your test results, please go to PKB and register (www.patientsknowbest.com/renal) or contact your kidney centre for help.

If you are contacting us about missing or delayed test results, your local kidney centre PKB coordinator can advise you most efficiently. When logged into PKB, you can send a message directly to your local coordinator from within PKB (click on "Events and Messages" then "Send Message").

If you still need help or cannot contact your local PKB support, please send your name, NHS number, and the kidney centre you attend to pkb-support@ukkidney.org and we will try to resolve the issue as soon as we can.

Note: If you need help with registering and using PKB, please email PKB at help@patientsknowbest.com. Do not share any personal or clinical information in the email.

Patients in Northern Ireland and Scotland

In Scotland and Northern Ireland, the changeover from PV to PKB is taking longer than in other UK regions and there will be a break in service.

Please be assured that your test results are still being sent from laboratories to your kidney centre and will be acted upon as normal by your clinician. We are working together with the Scottish Health Boards and Health and Social Care (HSC) in Northern Ireland to make the break in service as short as possible.

We appreciate that many patients will feel anxious and compelled to call their kidney centre, but please consider that this may deflect staff away from direct clinical care.

Once the Scottish Health Boards and Northern Ireland's HSC have completed their processes, the changeover can take place and you should receive a letter or email invitation to join Patients Know Best. Please follow the instructions and once you login to PKB, you will be able to view your results.

If you do not receive an email or letter about PKB in the next 4 weeks, please contact your local kidney centre to make sure that they have the correct address for you.

We apologise for this break in service and thank you for your patience and understanding.

After successfully joining PKB, if you have any issues or queries regarding your data, your local kidney centre PKB coordinator can advise you. When logged into PKB, you can send a message directly to your local coordinator from within PKB (click on "Events and Messages" then "Send Message").

Note: If you need help with registering and using PKB please email PKB at help@patientsknowbest.com. Do not share any personal or clinical information in the email.

If you still need help or cannot contact your centre or local PKB support, please send your name, CHI/HSC number and the kidney centre you attend to pkb-support@ukkidney.org and we will try to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Please note that we are unable to help until the Scottish Health Boards and Northern Ireland’s HSC sign their agreement with PKB and you have received your invitation to join PKB.

Kind regards,

UK Kidney Association
